In this video: A new year welcomes a series of toll increases nationwide that will impact your daily commute, and a few of those road trips. We break down the toll hikes, from the California bridges to the New York tunnels, and everywhere in between.
Full description: Tolls are going up across nearly all of the Bay Area Bridges, except for the Golden Gate Bridge. Look for tolls to start on the Independence Bridge in Bay City, Michigan; the international crossings in Detroit are getting a toll increase, and tolls are going up on the bridges and tunnels going into Manhattan, not to mention the new congestion pricing plan. Major corridors will also see toll increases, with Ohio, Pennsylvania and Illinois raising rates. Tolls on the New Jersey Turnpike, portions of which run concurrent with I-95, are going up, as well.
